John Jackson


Chosen by the band to be the director on August 14, 2003. John is a native of Ozark, AL. He attended undergraduate and graduate school at Troy University, where he received a Bachelor’s degree in Music Education in 1995 and a Master’s degree in Music Education in 1997. He was a member of the Troy University Band, directed by Dr. John M. Long.

In addition to directing the Capitol Sounds Concert Band, Mr. Jackson is involved with the Montgomery Symphony Orchestra and serves on the Arts Council of Montgomery.  John resides in Montgomery with his wife, Jennifer, who plays flute in the band and has a son, John Scott Jackson.
